New Indepentdant Poll Of New Yorkers Finds Lingering Doubts About Official Explanation Of 9/11 Attacks, Including Third Tower’s Collapse

(New York – June 8, 2011)

Amid its June 6th launch of 425 advertising spots on New York television, Remember Building 7 – an advocacy campaign calling for a new investigation into the collapse of a third skyscraper on 9/11 – has released findings from a new poll it commissioned on what New Yorkers believe about that day.

The May polling of 643 New Yorkers (including respondents in all of New York City’s five boroughs) by the independent Siena Research Institute shows meaningful levels of doubt and concern regarding the truth about what happened that day, with only 60 percent of New Yorkers ready to “move on”, and 48 percent in favor of the Manhattan District Attorney or New York City Council opening a new investigation into the collapse of World Trade Center Building 7.

Egypt marks Intl. Day in Support of Victims of Torture

The International Day of Torture (June 26th) coincides with the trial of the former Interior Minister Habib el-Adly, where massive numbers of protesters and human rights activists gathered outside the court chanting anti-police slogans and demanding death penalty for the once widely feared interior minister.

Activists say International Day of Torture is an occasion for the world to speak up against the unspeakable. It is also a day dedicated to remembering and supporting the many victims of torture in Egypt and around the world.

I speak out about the pure evil of all torture! And for justice to those who authorize and perform it, no matter where they live or what their excuse may be!

Leaked WikiLeaks Cable: 2005 Democracy Now! Report on Haiti Killings Irked U.S. Embassy

Many people who know me will also know that I try to get my news from as many unbiased/bipartisan sources as time permits. I like to see all sides of a story if possible. However, the primary source I have settled on (when time is tight) is DemocracyNow! This independent new station is called "The War and Peace Report" and does a great job of focusing on US international and foreign affairs, the massive corruption and pain that is caused by the US throughout the world.

Apparently the US agrees, and so it tried to "set the narrative straight" when DemocracyNow!'s story contradicted.

It's a short clip that I just wish to share for a couple of blunt reasons. First, DemocracyNow! is not a parrot for government spokespersons. Second, the government often DOES try to sell its people a story that is not true. Or they hide the facts. It's about keeping their reputation untarnished, not about revealing Truth. The question is, what will you choose to believe? Does Truth matter to you? It matters to me, because Truth is reality. It seems like we should each be taking advantage of our "freedom to learn" by learning about our country, government, and policies which affect us and many others less fortunate. I believe that the founding fathers saw information as the currency of democracy. Thus freedom of the press was a right granted from the start. Today there is a long list of important issues, for example:
  • Torture & Indefinite imprisonment
  • Domestic spying & Warrant-less wiretapping
  • Racial profiling
  • 9/11 lies and misinformation
  • Wars of aggression and false flag attacks
  • Military coups & Puppet governments
  • Debt/financial crisis
  • Energy crisis
  • Food crisis
  • Water crisis
  • Education crisis
Did I miss anything? This is our world. So sad, I'm sorry to admit. (NOTE: there is lots of good happening in the world too, of course, which gives me hope.)

We, the people, are supposed to decide how our governments conduct their business. As we do so, "Love thy neighbour as thyself" is a principle that needs to be practiced a lot more often in this terror-spooked world we live in. I have optimism that one day a righteous leader will take the reigns and guide us into peace, prosperity and happiness. When that day finally happens, I intend to follow Him. Meanwhile, I will continue to fumble my way through life, trying to make a difference for Good on this Earth.
