This doesn't even make sense at all. Which "two" buildings are you even comparing? WTC 1, 2, or 7?

But are you suggesting that a Chinese apartment building -- under renovation -- is more resistant to fire damage than WTC 1, 2, and 7?

Besides, you also missed the part where I mentioned "NO steel framed high-rise building in history has collapsed [due to fire], before or after 9/11, ever." So, you seriously think that each one of those buildings (most of which burned far longer and hotter) was stronger than the award-winning WTC 1, 2, and 7?

Now... I ask you to look into this topic some more, with an open mind and critical thinking skills in tact.Stevehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11165277170755988215noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1685653835029477627.post-31531317073046318652010-12-23T14:55:56.762-07:002010-12-23T14:55:56.762-07:00Utter insanity - who says the construction of the ...Utter insanity - who says the construction of the two buildings is even remotely comparable?Jeffrey Shallithttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12763971505497961430noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1685653835029477627.post-18011548234869436002010-02-04T10:23:24.595-07:002010-02-04T10:23:24.595-07:00Just sickening!Just sickening!Betsyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17300018129601563534noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1685653835029477627.post-20340819922372624722009-11-12T11:39:48.404-07:002009-11-12T11:39:48.404-07:00Well put. You can't move ahead and ignor something that took our country to war and took away constitutional freedoms. I really hope someday those who were involved are brought to justice, before it's too late.Betsyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17300018129601563534noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1685653835029477627.post-17011328607703027012009-10-29T10:01:50.457-06:002009-10-29T10:01:50.457-06:00That's a very nice poster! It would be interesting to see how long you could concentrate on one thought. -Cami

While an interesting clip, there is a difference between a machine that reads the amount of electrical activity in the brain and turns it to power, and a machine that can actually read your thoughts and follow commands. I do think this sort of EEG utilizing technology could have wide applications, but they would be limited. One possibility is using different levels of brain activity to symbolize different commmands. For example, if one learned by training (using a feedback EEG) how to concentrate to a certain level in order to turn right or left, up or down in a jet, one could possibly use different quantification of brain activity to control the jet. However, this would be FAR from a machine that was able to read your thoughts and turn right when you think about turning right. Still, its a little crazy and this might be an interesting exercise in controllin ones concentration and thoughts. Anyway, cool clip Steve!
-JohnCamihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05839764149929676468noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1685653835029477627.post-9009756339033573082009-06-14T14:44:54.985-06:002009-06-14T14:44:54.985-06:00dont get me wrong, i love this country otherwise i...dont get me wrong, i love this country otherwise i wouldnt be here. I guess i dont understand the security thing, what are we afraid of. It seems to me we should be more afraid of our own people than that of others. I would think twice about taking the dog for walk at night, amy wouldnt even entertain the thought. I wont honk my horn at a motorist if they risk my saftey on the road because i know they could be carrying a gun, that person takes away my security yet we are torturing people from parts of the world i have never heard of never mind pranounce. For the most part we have no security. Torture people and you bread contempt and hatred, we only have to look at our own feelings to know that this is true. we pulled away from afganistan leaving the people to deal with the problems themselves once we created them. As the documentary states, this is where bin laden came to hate us. We will do the same in iraq. I understand knowledge is power and the way we are getting our knowledge is through torture, breading contempt for later years. Its like bailing a sinking ship with a spoon. we need to understand where this hate come from and act acordingly to correct. sorry i am prattling on now. alan.Amy Darthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15215963202601193086noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1685653835029477627.post-27473733261385359802009-06-14T11:22:21.598-06:002009-06-14T11:22:21.598-06:00Thanks Alan. I agree that there are certainly a number of incidents in American history that are at least suspicious or questionable to me. Vietnam and the Gulf of Tonkin, JFK assassination, rigging elections, Pearl Harbor, etc. In fact, I just watched a movie about the Drug War in America, and while it is a complicated and controversial topic, the witness charges of CIA support in supplying drugs to finance foreign wars is troubling. It all is.
But to me, those aren't as shocking as the 9/11 issue, maybe because I just don't claim to know much about them, or because I realize that every government has a certain level of corruption, as sad as that is.
But I think 9/11 is on a level all it's own, as it is certainly the root cause of so many changes to every American's life, including the PATRIOT ACT, Military Commission Act, FISA, Iraq War, and now our international reputation for torture. Hence my big passion for telling people about it, I guess.Stevehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11165277170755988215noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1685653835029477627.post-22199720748751377182009-06-13T23:40:57.374-06:002009-06-13T23:40:57.374-06:00Thanks for your comment Alan. I never noticed that before, but I think you're right about "security" -- it is supposedly why the government tortured prisoners, and also why Americans want to own guns. I don't really see the big need for guns either.. but I always thought that was just because I was Canadian :)
Of course, we all need a reasonable level of safety to help us achieve life, liberty, and the pursuit to happyness. But we cannot allow that to trample over basic, unalienable rights as human beings either.
It reminds me of a quote by Benjamin Franklin: "They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety."Stevehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11165277170755988215noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1685653835029477627.post-71225811997450455582009-06-13T00:26:44.578-06:002009-06-13T00:26:44.578-06:00I think i have some good talks ahead with you. I don't believe in torture by any means but i maybe understand it just a little. swaying off the conversation a little, i don't see the need for guns either. I understand that people feel like they need one to protect themselves, is torture not part of the security issue. questions risen by torture is "what if they are innocent, does the person doing the torture become as bad as the crime investigated", i would say YES. Would i do it "NO". Should a executioner putting a Innocent man/woman to death then be put to death himself once they have been found to be innocent? Personally the only politics i have found to work is that of Gandhi, pure and simple. Knowingly inflicting pain on others and calling yourself a good christian is a contradiction in terms. Thanks for the thoughts. alan.Amy Darthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15215963202601193086noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1685653835029477627.post-46619150462194984062009-06-13T00:04:59.531-06:002009-06-13T00:04:59.531-06:00watched 9/11 press for truth, to be honest nothing...watched 9/11 press for truth, to be honest nothing in here surprised me apart from the fact it was so obvious once these time lines were available. Another sad part to these thought are, how far back does these type of business ventures go (lets face it that is what it is), Vietnam, The lusitania being sunk by the Germans off the coast of ireland bringing the USA into the war and of course IRAQ and maybe for that matter Pearl Harbor. alan.Amy Darthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15215963202601193086noreply@blogger.com
